Ivan Rabb Receives 2019/20 NBA G League Jason Collier Sportsmanship Award

On June 23, it was announced that Ivan Rabb of the Westchester Knicks is the recipient of the 2019-20 NBA G League Jason Collier Sportsmanship Award. As voted on by all G League players.

“The award honors the player who best represents the ideals of character and conduct on the court and in the community.”

23-year-old Rabb averaged 16.5 points and 12.1 rebounds, in 29 games this season. His 3rd campaign in the G League. His 12.1 rebounds were a league-high. On March 6, he recorded 24 rebounds against the Wisconsin Herd, which is a single-game franchise record.

The California native played a big part in the Westchester community over the course of the 2019-20 season. Where he assisted in the unloading of 1,000 turkeys to Feeding Westchester. As part of the Stop & Shop’s annual Turkey Express program.

The award honours Jason Collier, who passed away suddenly on October 15, 2005. Collier played for the Houston Rockets, Atlanta Hawks, as well as in the NBA G League. He was described as being a “player and person who exemplified the qualities of a faithful teammate, husband, father, son, brother and friend”.

Levi Randolph of the Canton Charge and Devin Cannady of the Long Island Nets finished second and third in voting, respectively.
