Since Wednesday, July 22, Adam Mokoka of the Chicago Bulls and Windy City Bulls has been participating in the Amiral League. A French Summer League, being held in Cergy, France, on the outskirts of Paris.
The Bulls’ two-way guard featured on Team Amiral, who breezed into the final of the competition. Mokoka only recorded 3 points in the semi-finals (July 26), with what appeared to be some shoulder discomfort. He spent the majority of the game on the bench icing his wounds.
Mokoka was all good for the championship game a mere hours later however, as he suited up to face Quai 54. His opponents featured Lahaou Konaté and Boris Dallo who both play in the top tier in France. For Metropolitans 92 and SIG Strasbourg, respectively.
Darel Poirier, an ex-G League player for the Capital City Go-Go and the Windy City Bulls, also featured for Quai 54.
The Bulls guard started off strong, playing suffocating defense and sinking a 3-ball. In what was a close contest, until the second half, when Amiral ran ahead in the scoring. Highlighted by a flurry of Mokoka assists and a handful of flashy dunks.
The 22-year-old finished the contest with 18 points, leading his side to the 2020 Amiral League Championship. Earning MVP honors in the process.
