Amir Johnson, Bobby Brown, Brandon Ashley Join G League Ignite

The NBA G League have announced the additions of Amir Johnson, Bobby Brown, and Brandon Ashley. As the trio join as veterans for the Ignite team for elite prospects. This comes following the previous signings of Reggie Hearn and Cody Demps.

The 5 veterans bring vital experience of not just playing in the NBA, but across the world. Aiding in the development of prospects Jalen Green, Jonathan Kuminga, Isaiah Todd, Daishen Nix, Kai Sotto, and Princepal Singh.

The Ignite team, led by Head Coach Brian Shaw, recently began training camp in Walnut Creek, CA. As it appears that the G League’s new project is now in full flow.

Experienced Heads:

Brian Shaw adds nearly 30-years of NBA experience. While Amir Johnson adds a further 14-years. Having shown out for the Detroit Pistons, Toronto Raptors, Boston Celtics, and Philadelphia 76ers.

Bobby Brown played 6 NBA seasons, accumulating 158 games for the Sacramento Kings, Minnesota Timberwolves, New Orleans Hornets, Los Angeles Clippers, and Houston Rockets. He last played for PAOK Thessaloniki in Greece.

26-year-old Brandon Ashley spent two seasons in the NBA G League, with the Texas Legends. In the 2015-16 season he was a G League All-Star selection. He has since featured for Alba Berlin, Apoel Nicosia, and most recently, the New Zealand Breakers.
